Privacy notice
Last updated: 5 October 2026
This notice describes the current Bahamas Visitors Guide website. For privacy questions or requests, contact jane.braynen@gmail.com. Our public contact location is Nassau, Bahamas.
Information we process
You can browse without creating an account. Local directory searches run in your browser. The contact form prepares an email in your email app; it does not submit the form to a website database. If you send that email, we receive the name, email address, optional phone number and message you provide. Please do not send sensitive personal information.
Website hosting providers may process IP addresses, request times, requested pages and device information to deliver and secure the website. The local preview runs on the website owner’s computer. The production hosting provider and its logging and retention settings must be confirmed before public launch.
Why we use information
We use enquiries to reply to requests, discuss advertising or guide enquiries, and manage business correspondence. Where applicable, this processing relies on taking steps you request before a contract, our legitimate interests in responding and operating a secure service, or legal obligations. Optional embedded services load only with your consent.
Optional services and sharing
Google Maps and WeatherWidget.io are disabled unless you enable them in Cookie settings. Once enabled, their providers can receive your IP address, browser information, page details and other technical data and may use cookies. WeatherWidget.io identifies OpenWeather as a data provider. See Google’s privacy policy and WeatherWidget.io’s privacy policy. Providers may process data outside your country. Their own privacy practices apply to the information they receive.
Our email provider processes messages you send us. We do not install advertising pixels or analytics trackers in the current website code. We do not use the current website to sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Paid directory listings are advertisements, not tracking services.
Retention and security
Cookie choices expire after 180 days or when you clear browser storage. We keep correspondence only as needed to answer enquiries, manage the resulting business relationship and meet applicable legal or accounting duties. Specific operational retention periods and hosting arrangements require confirmation before launch. We use reasonable safeguards, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to processing where applicable under the law in your location. You may also withdraw optional-service consent through Cookie settings, and make requests without discrimination. Email us with your request; we may ask for proportionate information to verify identity. We respond within the time required by applicable law. You can complain to your local privacy regulator.
A browser Global Privacy Control signal defaults optional services off when you have not made a choice. The current site does not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising. See Privacy choices.
Children and external links
This website is general visitor information, not a service directed at children. We do not ask children to provide personal information. Contact us if a child has sent information that should be removed. Business, social media, map, weather and payment links take you to independent services whose policies apply after you visit them.
Changes
We will update this notice when services or practices change. New optional purposes require a new choice before activation.
